The provision of a safe and enjoyable way for staff to become more physically active within the workplace can accrue benefits for both the employer as well as the employee.

Be-Active Ltd Ltd helps organizations, with varying numbers of employees, establish and promote effective Walking Programmes within their workplace.

We provide training for both Scheme Organisers as well as the Walk Leaders -- required to run a successful programme.


KEY MODULE:

Introducing the Step Counter Pack into your workplace

Duration: Half-Day

Course Includes:

Making the case for promoting walking in the workplace – health benefits/barriers
Marketing walking in the workplace
Motivating people to walk (increasing confidence and importance)
Using the Workplace Pack effectively (e.g. using the Step Counter, loaning out Step Counters)
Hints and tips for the Scheme Organiser
Ideas for implementation

Additional Module 1: Leading Walks in the Workplace

Duration: Half-Day

Course Includes:

Recruiting and managing Walk Leaders
Walk Leaders' roles and responsibilities – before, during and at the end of a walk
Organising and leading walks
Advice on practical issues such as intensity, frequency, footwear and clothing

Route identification
Grading walks
Making maps understandable
Designing written materials
Route audit and checklist
